About

The BFC is looking for an experienced Retail Partnerships / Buyers Relations Executive to join the team and work on UK & international buyer relations. The Retail Partnerships / Buyers Relations Executive will play a key role in delivering the Retail Partnership’s team objective of creating London Fashion Week, London Fashion Week Men’s, London Fashion Week Festival, LONDON show ROOMS and The Fashion Awards as international platforms that bring the top fashion buyers, sales agents and buying offices from the US, Asia & Europe to our events in London and overseas.

Responsibilities

Business Skills

  • Assistance in the creation of global BFC retail partnerships strategy to promote British fashion on the global stage
  • Capability to work across the full portfolio of BFC events to drive international awareness and attendance from buyers, sales agents, online platforms, showrooms and buying offices
  • Relationship management of global retailers, UK and international buying teams, consultants and agencies 
  • Personal network of UK & International retailers and cultural contacts, well connected with exceptional communication skills 
  • Team management: delegating and developing Buyer Relations Retail Marketing Assistant in addition to recruiting and managing agents, consultants, interns & assistants during BFC events and as required
  • Main point of contact for retail & buyer communications internally across the BFC departments
  • Delivering individual tasks whilst maintaining focus on overall objectives
  • Demonstrating best practice in managing communications and quality standards
  • Drives best practice behaviours and works as a team to meet BFC’s objectives to maintain integrity and reputation

Expertise Skills

  • Management & development of the BFC CRM database of UK and international buyers in-cluding data input, amendments, accuracy and reporting
  • Knowledge and visibility of industry wide retail sector changes including store openings, job moves and promotions and updating our records and team accordingly
  • Accreditation vetting and ownership of list creation and client management to maintain standard of excellence across the BFC’s portfolio of events
  • Management and maintenance of VIP BFC International Guest Programme including budgeting, guest selection, invitation and co-ordination including hotel and car allocation plus entertainment during attendance and seasonal reporting
  • Management and support of onsite registration teams at LFW, LFWM & LsR
  • Report & presentation creation and cross-functional collaboration to create data, evaluation and documentation for government and governmental bodies, BFC board, Patrons, retailers, sponsors and internal teams for all BFC events displaying seasonal, yearly comparisons and ROI measurement
  • Assistance in the development of retail partnerships with BFC initiatives including NEWGEN, Positive Fashion, Fashion Arts Foundation and IFS
  • Management and accuracy of BFC retail partnerships budget
  • Management and organisation of BFC retail partnerships team critical path calendars and project management timelines
  • Ownership and coordination of retail contacts throughout the year for the BFC’s portfolio of events, including The Fashion Awards
  • Pro-actively seeking and maintaining relationships with retailers through meetings, trade shows, events & networking
  • BFC representation at events including door handling, VIP liaison, meeting representation and regional and international store visits

Professional Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in the fashion, lifestyle or retail sectors
  • Well respected amongst peers and wider industry
  • Knowledge of British and international designers
  • Knowledge of global economic marketplace and its impact on retailers
  • Knowledge of UK and international retail market, department stores & boutiques
  • Experience of writing reports to a high standard
  • Database/CRM knowledge or experience
  • Foreign languages a bonus (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French & Italian preferred)

Salary & Benefits

  • Job type: full time, permanent
  • Salary Band: £TBC - £TBC, dependant on experience
  • Standard company benefits, including 25 days annual holiday
  • Standard company working hours, flexibility required during events, exhibitions and busy periods
  • Confirmation of appointment and eligibility to benefits, subject to successful completion of a 3 month probationary period
  • This salary is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). This is due to the BFC being a recipient of ERDF funds and as such employees are required to keep a record, via monthly time sheets, of the work undertaken relating to ERDF funded activities.
