Responsibilities

Business Skills

  • Assistance in the creation of UK BFC Retail Partnerships strategy to promote British fashion on the global stage
  • Capability to work across the full portfolio of BFC events to drive international awareness and attendance from buyers, sales agents, online platforms, showrooms and buying offices
  • Assistance in relationship management of global retailers, UK and international buying teams, consultants and agencies. Works cross functionally with internal teams to positively manage requests
  • Team management: Management of interns and Temporary staff workload
  • Pro-actively supports the team across all needs to meet BFC’s objectives to maintain integrity and reputation
  • Takes ownership, is accountable to deliver timely solutions, meet deadlines and complete actions
  • Delivering individual tasks whilst maintaining focus on overall objectives
  • Demonstrating best practice in managing communications and quality standards

Expertise Skills

  • Support with management and maintenance of VIP BFC International Guest Programme including budgeting, guest selection, invitation and co-ordination including hotel and car allocation plus entertainment during attendance and seasonal reporting
  • Support with report & presentation creation and cross-functional collaboration to create data, evaluation and documentation for government and governmental bodies, BFC board, Patrons, retailers, sponsors and internal teams for all BFC events displaying seasonal, yearly comparisons and ROI measurement
  • Organisation of BFC retail partnerships team critical path calendars and project management timelines
  • Support with management of onsite registration teams at LFW, LFWM & LONDON show ROOMS
  • Accuracy and reporting of the BFC CRM database of UK and international buyers including data input, amendments, accuracy and reporting. Inclusive of sourcing correct contact details of those who can be no longer reached via emails and phone calls
  • Knowledge and visibility of industry wide retail sector changes including store openings, job moves and promotions and updating our records and team accordingly
  • Actively researching new retailers and buyers through media and attendance records of 
    LONDON show ROOMS, LFW & LFWM and other BFC events 
  • Accreditation vetting and ownership of list creation and client management to maintain standard of excellence across the BFC’s portfolio of events
  • Coordination of retail contacts throughout the year for the BFC’s portfolio of events, including The Fashion Awards
  • BFC representation at events including door handling, VIP liaison, meeting representation and regional and international store visits

Key Relationships
Maintain and develop positive and strong working relationships with:

  • UK & International retailers, buying teams, buying offices & sales agents 
  • BFC patrons, sponsors, consultants and agencies
  • Communications team, Brand Partnerships, Designer Relations, Business support, Charities,
    Finance & Office of the CEO.

Professional Experience & Skills

  • Graduate or 12 months assistant experience in corporate environment preferred
  • Good relationship building and interpersonal skills. Pro-active and sociable
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of British and international designers
  • Knowledge of global economic marketplace and its impact on retailers
  • Knowledge of UK and international retail market, department stores & boutiques
  • Database/CRM knowledge or experience

Salary & Benefits

  • Job type: full time, permanent
  • Salary Band: £TBC - £TBC, dependent on experience
  • Standard company benefits, including 25 days annual holiday
  • Standard company working hours, flexibility required during events, exhibitions, etc.
  • Confirmation of appointment and eligibility to benefits, subject to successful completion of a 3 month probationary period
  • This salary is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). This is due to the BFC being a recipient of ERDF funds and as such employees are required to keep a record, via monthly time sheets, of the work undertaken relating to ERDF funded activities
