Joint Statement by the Four Fashion Councils

Joint Statement by
British Fashion Council (BFC)
Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI)
Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA)
Fédération Française de la Couture du Prêt à Porter des Couturiers et des Créateurs de Mode (FF)

On Sunday, 24th April 2016, the Fédération Française de la Couture du Prêt-à-Porter des Couturiers et des Créateurs de Mode (FF) hosted a meeting with the British Fashion Council (BFC), Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI) and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) at the 30th International Festival of Fashion and Photography in Hyères. The meeting was relaxed and informal, but nonetheless a landmark event. This was the first time in modern history that all four leading fashion councils had met in person (for many years they have been in contact and met as individual councils on an ad hoc basis). The four councils shared information and discussed subjects including digital, sustainability, education and fashion weeks. They also used this opportunity to discuss setting the fashion calendar dates until 2020. The meeting was extremely positive and all parties agreed that the four councils should build on this friendship whilst being more proactive in sharing knowledge and opportunities to collaborate in the future.

Representatives present at the meeting were Ralph Toledano, Pascal Morand, Caroline Rush, Carlo Capasa and Steven Kolb.
