My graduate BA collection centres around the life of Saint Jeanne D’Arc, exploring themes of religious clothing and armoured dress. The narrative of her innocence, success, downfall, and eventual death is told through my seven looks, each uniquely named: The Romantic, The Innocent, The Knight, The Emperor, The Threat, The Moth, and The Fire. These looks portray various aspects and archetypes of femininity, reflecting how women have been perceived both historically and in contemporary times. I believe Jeanne’s life exemplifies the cruelty women often endure, as well as their passion. I envisioned her life unfolding in gardens, churches, and battle camps in the woods, forging a connection with Nature and God. This relationship with nature is integral to my collection, reflected in my choice of materials. I used natural fibres such as linens, cottons, and animal skins. https://de-baer.com
