Deadly Dinner combines my family traditions, murder mystery research and 1970s surrealist dinner parties. These elements inform a womenswear collection that sensitively handles the stereotypical roles women play in the kitchen, combined with uncanny references to a very British fascination with murder mystery. My work reflects the historical gender roles at play in the eccentric dinner parties of my childhood. Textiles and print involve trompe l’oile, lenticular printing, hand drawing and photographic manipulation to create patterns with a humorous and surreal energy.
