Luca was raised in Taiwan and Japan before moving to the UK to study Fashion Design. Taking interest in music, literature, and architecture. His aesthetics are minimal, poetic, and sensual. For his final year collection “Normal Clothes”, he looked at Sally Rooney, Haruki Murakami, Brutalism Architecture, vintage clothes, softness and hardness and a sense of flow for inspiration. He then documented a video of a piece of white cloth which is manipulated by his two hands to create pleats and drapes. He referenced the pleats and started draping with paper and calico. The draping process is abstract with lots of freedom to express, similar to abstract paintings. Patterns inspired by vintage clothes and pleats from the white cloth were put together which led to the final results. He is looking for industry experience in fashion design and pattern cutting. Due to mandatory military service in Taiwan, he will have to be based in Taiwan for up to a year until spring/summer 2025, then able to relocate after that.
