I am Ella Archer, a Fashion Designer, studying at Nottingham Trent University. My final collection, ‘Inner Alchemy’ is derived from the idea of transfiguration, conveying the exploration of personal metamorphosis, drawing inspiration from the transformative journey from within. My project and final collection seeks to celebrate the beauty of change and the courage it takes to undergo a personal transfiguration, resonating with those who have embraced or are undergoing the transformative journey within themselves. I have created a striking print, inspired by the “Emperor Moth” and used a hand-smocking technique to depict a delicate and ethereal aesthetic to represent the ‘unfolding wings of self-realisation’. My collection uses sophisticated and elegant silhouettes with a focus on tailoring and panelling. I was shortlisted for the ‘Untagged GFW Competition’ where my upcycled denim garment will be showcased on a stand at GFW24. I bring a blend of creativity, dedication and ambition. I am driven by a desire to develop and enhance my skills and enjoy the challenge of exploring novel solutions and pushing the boundaries of fashion with each project undertaken. After graduating I hope to work collaboratively within an innovative design team.
