The Worshipful Company of Framework Knitters – Knit Bursary 2024 - Winner The Sky Garden is inspired by Italian travels, admiring balconies and architecture, falling in love with the way Italians use their balconies filling them with cascading shrubbery and flowers. Throughout my research I discovered that the plants and flowers are chosen with great care as they bring different spiritual meanings to the owner's home. Through this collection I have explored different knit techniques both on the single and double bed knit machines pushing my love for patterns and colours with textures. Sustainability is especially important to me, and I am passionate about using natural materials that can be recycled or biodegrade at the end of their life time. I have worked closely with The Natural Fibre Company, based in Cornwall, who produce their pure wool yarns all under one roof in the most sustainable manner they can achieve.
