My name is Dihua Tang. I am currently studying Menswear in Year 3 at the London College of Fashion. I went to Australia to study when I was 14. I have been studying fashion since Year 10 in high school in Australia. At that time, I discovered that a career in fashion was my future goal. That's why I chose to attend the University of the Arts to study fashion design. My brand name is Tangdi | hua. My brand aims to achieve seven principles: Simplicity and elegance: Tangdi | hua's design style features simple, clean lines and soft colors, emphasizing understated elegance. The brand pursues a classic aesthetic not limited by time and trends. High-quality fabric: The brand focuses on selecting high-quality natural fabrics such as cotton, wool, silk, and linen, ensuring that each piece is visually striking and comfortable. Gender inclusion: The brand's designs are gender-inclusive, with many pieces that blur the lines between menswear and womenswear, emphasizing freedom of choice in style. Practicality: Tangdi | hua's designs emphasize practicality and functionality for everyday wear, allowing the wearer to feel comfortable and confident in various situations. Timelessness: The brand aims to transcend seasonal trends, creating pieces that can be loved and worn for multiple seasons and years. For this collection, my theme is the demolition in my hometown, Shanghai. I aim to find a balance between Shanghai tradition and Western culture to create an interesting collection. The collection merges past dressing styles with contemporary fashion fabrics and details. Fabric selection is based on my investigation of the clothing of people living in the alleys, their environment, and habits. Colors will feature natural soft and bright contrasting hues. Linen, cotton, and silk will be used to vividly convey the series concept.
