Hello, my name is Jenna Fox, and I’m a final-year student at Coventry University. Having lived in Coventry my whole life, as I prepare to graduate, I am thrilled to say that I will be continuing my studies in the West Midlands, pursuing an MA in Fashion Promotion. This next step represents an exciting opportunity to further develop my skills and expand my understanding of the fashion industry. My latest project titled “Fragile Reflections” is a textile project that’s a tribute to my Grandad as a reflection of the profound impact he had on me. It is a celebration of his style, his wisdom, and the countless hours of life stories and lessons he taught me during his life. Through my work, I hope to honour him and inspire others to find beauty in the passage of time and life. Each textile in my collection tells a story, reminiscent of moments we all share in life. The frayed edges symbolize the wear and tear of life’s experiences, while the layers and colours represent the passing of time and how the body ages. Through texture, colour, and form, I aimed to evoke emotions and memories associated with aging and decay. My work is deeply inspired by my environment and the people around me. From the vibrant energy of urban landscapes to the beauty of nature, diverse perspectives and experiences of those I interact with also play a crucial role in shaping my ideas and stories. Going into my professional career, I aspire to carry this influence forward by fostering environments that encourage collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity. I believe that by drawing on collective wisdom and creativity, we can all achieve extraordinary outcomes.
