“In the fashion world, it could be anything and everything. Fashion has no limits.” Hi, my name is Agnes Lim, I am a fashion design student that is currently studying BA (Hons) Fashion in University for the Creative Arts. I have honed my skills and developed a personal style that combines minimalism with practicality. Through my work, I aspire to create body awareness and push the boundaries of fashion. I believe that fashion is a communication that connects people with different cultures, fashion tastes, and to represent a person’s personality. My vision is to inspire confidence and self-expression in those who wear my designs. Fashion could be anyone or everyone, it is not limited and could not be a limit, the creativity of fashion will continue to evolve as the time flows. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my passion with the world and look forward to continuing to grow as a designer. My design aesthetic emphasises the silhouette, meticulous details, and the overall cleanliness. I draw from my daily life, deep reflections, and personal experiences. The garments I design are predominantly casual, practical, and ready-to-wear, aiming to create outfits that everyone can wear comfortably and casually, yet still look chic and modern. My collection often features bold, clean cutting lines, fitted and oversized silhouettes and a monochrome palette. I pursued a fashion design and pattern making course at Esmod Kuala Lumpur. There, I immersed myself in pattern-making and discovered my design style through the three-year fashion diploma. After my diploma studies in Malaysia ended, I decided to further my studies in the UK, to gain a fashion degree and have a chance to experience London’s fashion scene. Hence, I transferred to the second year of University for the Creative Arts, where I have continued to refine my skills and aesthetic. Till date, I have developed a keen eye for detail, and the aesthetic of my design.
