I’m Nick Piredda, menswear fashion designer originally from the island of Sardinia, in south Italy. At 21, I moved to Manchester to pursue a career path in fashion design. My journey began with a love for hip-hop culture, streetwear, and sneaker collecting, all significant influences that have shaped my creative vision. Visionaries like Virgil Abloh inspired me to bridge the gap between street culture and high-end market. My skills have been honed through a blend of practical experience and education. At the University of Salford, I delved into garment fitting and audience-centric design, exploring how masculinity is expressed through silhouettes while emphasizing wearability and comfort. This balance between form and function is a cornerstone of my design process. Returning to my Sardinian roots inspired me to incorporate my technical approach, in a more naturalistic vision, making it suitable for colour-palettes that remind of the healthy lifestyle that Sardinia has to offer, a sense of modern, industrial, and chaotic aesthetic mixed with the natural, rustic, slow pace scenario to suggest the different two worlds where I been living on, taking the best of both, and merging them together. My goal is to grow professionally in order to widen the horizons in which my fluid design approach can adapt to, and as an employee, to bring a unique blend of creativity, technical skill, and a commitment to responsible fashion. I am dedicated to continuous learning and innovation, always looking for ways to push the boundaries of traditional fashion. Joining the British Fashion Council would provide an incredible opportunity to contribute my unique perspective and skills. I am eager to collaborate with other talented professionals to shape a more sustainable and inclusive future for fashion keeping the relevancy within the trend changes. Thanks, Nick
