University of Northampton is home to a world-renowned heritage in footwear, leather and luxury goods, based at the University's £330 million Waterside Campus.
The BA (Hons) Fashion, Textiles and Footwear course gives students rigorous, industry-relevant training across every level of the programme, building both a theoretical understanding of fashion design and the practical, technical skills needed to bring ideas to life. Students specialise in Fashion, Footwear or Textiles as they progress, developing skills in traditional and digital design technologies within specialist workshops led by expert academic and technical staff.
Students have unique access to the Institute for Creative Leather Technology (ICLT) tannery, working with leather as a creative material, alongside live industry projects and national and international competitions that provide real-world experience for careers across the fashion, textile and footwear sector. The course culminates in a final major project - the design and production of a capsule collection, supported by academic research and shown at the University's annual Degree Show.
