Automation and Robotics Workshop: Engaging with the Future of Fashion & Textile Manufacturing

3 days(s) ago

On 15th May, the CFIN Team, the Robotics Living Lab at Manchester Metropolitan University and The Manufacturing Technology Centre hosted an engaging 'Automation and Robotics workshop.' The event brought together a range of representatives from the retail and manufacturing sectors to explore the exciting potential of robotics in fashion and textile production.

The workshop aimed to introduce businesses to the world of robotic integrators and demonstrate how robotic processes, collaborative robots, and agile tooling can be effectively incorporated into studio, micro, or SME factory settings. By involving stakeholders at an early stage, the event sought to assess the industry's interest and readiness to embrace this innovative technology.

Attendees gained valuable insights into how robotics can streamline garment manufacturing, support upskilling in the industry, and support the reshoring or nearshoring agenda. The workshop set the stage for a white paper to be released by the Living Robotics Lab, Manufacturing Technology Centre, and CFIN, charting a course towards a more efficient and sustainable future in fashion manufacturing.
