ABOUT THE ROLE 

The BFC is looking for a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Digital Communications Executive to manage and maintain our company websites and BFC membership portal. This role is responsible for ensuring the websites and portal are up-to-date, functional, and optimised for user experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in website management, content updates, troubleshooting technical issues, and improving site performance.

The candidate will have at least two years of experience. An individual in this role will have experience with website back-end CMS, basic understanding of HTML and coding, and UX, CSS, and SEO principles, familiarity with social media management tools, have strong analytical skills and attention to detail as well as the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. A true team player and committed mentor, this individual will be collaborative and eager to share ideas and information with both the communications team and the wider business. The role is results driven with a focus on impact and engagement. 

This candidate will have the opportunity to work across globally recognised, desirable platforms including London Fashion Week and The Fashion Awards and will be part of the fundamental growth of the department.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY 

Website Maintenance & Updates 

  • Establish a process for website updates in collaboration with wider business. 
  • Regularly update websites and membership portal content, including text, images, banners, and multimedia elements. 
  • Ensure all website links, forms, and interactive elements function properly. 
  • Perform routine website audits to identify and fix broken links, formatting issues, or outdated content. 
  • Manage website backups and security updates to prevent downtime or data loss.  

Technical Support & Troubleshooting 

  • Work closely with website agencies and developers to resolve website errors, bugs, and performance issues. 
  • Ensure the website is mobile-friendly and responsive across different devices and browsers. 
  • Monitor website speed and optimise loading times to enhance user experience. 
  • Troubleshoot integration issues with third-party plugins, APIs, or tools. 
  • Live monitoring of online events and livestreams.  

SEO & Performance Optimisation 

  • Implement basic on-page SEO practices, including meta tags, image optimisation, and URL structuring. 
  • Use tools like Google Analytics and Search Console to monitor traffic and performance. 
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure the website aligns with digital campaigns and business goals.  

Content Management & Compliance 

  • Manage content updates through CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Shopify, or custom-built systems). 
  • Ensure website content follows branding guidelines and company policies. 
  • Maintain compliance with data protection regulations (e.g: GDPR, CCPA). 
  • Ensure the websites are accessible for all user needs.  

 Collaboration & Reporting 

  • Work with designers, developers, and marketing teams to improve the websites user experience. 
  • Provide regular reports on website performance, user behaviour, and technical issues. 
  • Suggest improvements to enhance functionality, usability, and conversion rates. 

 Social Media Support 

  • Assist in scheduling and publishing social media posts across platforms. 
  • Monitor social media accounts, engage with followers, and respond to inquiries. 
  • Track social media performance and generate reports. 
  • Coordinate with designers and content creators to ensure consistency in branding. 
  • Research industry trends and suggest content ideas for digital campaigns. 

 KEY ATTRIBUTES 

  • Results driven, analytical and solutions focused.  
  • Experience in website maintenance, CMS management, or web development. 
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript (preferred but not mandatory). 
  • Knowledge of SEO principles, Google Analytics, and web performance tools. 
  • Familiarity with website security best practices and backup management. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. 
  • Demonstrate best practice in managing communications and quality standards. 
  • Deliver individual tasks whilst maintaining focus on overall company objectives. 
  • Ability to project manage.  
  • Strong attention to detail.  
  • Highly articulate with excellent written and verbal skills with proven experience.  
  • Able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
