The British Fashion Council (BFC) is delighted to release a provisional schedule for London Fashion Week (LFW) presented by Clearpay, taking place from Friday 16th to Tuesday 20th September 2022.
The provisional hybrid digital-physical schedule features over 110 confirmed designers, including iconic British luxury brand Burberry, who returns to London after a short hiatus and RAF SIMONS, who will be making his LFW catwalk debut. Further highlights include collection launches from established brands Emilia Wickstead, ERDEM, JW Anderson, Huishan Zhang, Molly Goddard, Rejina Pyo, ROKSANDA and Simone Rocha. This years’ BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund winner Richard Quinn will be returning to the schedule as well as BFC Fashion Trust recipients Completedworks, Richard Malone, SUPRIYA LELE and TOVE. The final schedule will be released in mid-August and include further updates and specific information regarding the format of each activation.
A curation of excellence, innovation, and creativity, LFW will showcase the cultural progressiveness of the city through a series of emblematic and immersive cultural physical and digital experiences presented by a dynamic mix of emerging and established design talent, brands and retailers. Additional participating designers include: 16Arlington, Chopova Lowena, DANIEL w. FLETCHER, EDWARD CRUTCHLEY, FASHION EAST, HALPERN and KNWLS.
This season, the BFC NEWGEN Show Space will return to The Old Selfridges Hotel, thanks to the generous support of Selfridges. As Official Partner of BFC NEWGEN, TikTok will support the next generation of British design talent to reach a wider audience globally. Participating BFC NEWGEN designers include: ANCUȚA SARCA, ASAI, Bethany Williams, Chet Lo, DI PETSA, EFTYCHIA, FEBEN, HARRI, HELEN KIRKUM, Leo Carlton, MASHA POPOVA, Nensi Dojaka, Paolo Carzana, S.S DALEY, Sinéad O'Dwyer, Stefan Cooke and yuhan wang.
The LFW digital hub, londonfashionweek.co.uk, will continue to be freely accessible to everyone - the BFC works collaboratively with participating designers to produce and showcase exclusive content bringing together fashion, culture and technology.
Returning this season is City-Wide Celebration, a curated programme of unique experiences and activations open to the public over LFW, spearheaded by inclusivity and consciousness, moving the fashion conversation forward through industry wide participation and partnerships. The programme is an extension of LFW aiming to unite London in a festival of creativity and innovation, hosting events and activations in partnership with key retailers, cultural institutions, and businesses. A full schedule of activities and how to get involved will be announced later in the summer.
LFW continues to be a cultural platform for change and encourages action around important issues surrounding the British fashion industry. In line with the BFC’s Institute of Positive Fashion, inclusive of the recent report by the BFC and MBS Group analysing diversity and inclusion in the fashion industry, and the unveiling of the BFC’s 10-year Fashion Industry Sustainable Change Programme, the BFC and LFW continue to encourage everyone participating to play their part as changemakers to create a better world and a fashion industry we are all proud of.
