September 2022 - We certainly were back with a bang in September to ready ourselves for London Fashion Week, where we were set to celebrate the return to schedule of Christopher Kane, Burberry and Raf Simmons as well as to champion our new grantee designers, such as our brilliant NEWGEN creatives and Richard Quinn, this year’s recipient of the BFC / VOGUE Designer Fashion Fund.
The devastating news of the Queen’s passing meant that some of our scheduled events did not happen, given our close relationship with the Palace we absolutely wanted to uphold and respect the mourning period along with the rest of the UK. And whilst most of the catwalk shows and presentations went ahead, it meant other events were postponed. Thank you to our BFC Foundation Patrons for your patience and understanding here, however it was lovely to catch some of you at our rescheduled BFC Foundation Patron drinks hosted by Tania and Narmina on Thursday 22 September. We welcomed back some of our founding BFC Foundation Patrons and also welcomed new Patrons into the fold, joining us for the rest of this year and into 2023.
For those who sadly couldn’t make it, Narmina, Tania and Caroline celebrated you all from afar, thanking you for supporting, underwriting and championing our designers and creatives who have benefitted from the grant giving of 2022 and 2021. Due to the hard work and extensive network of both Tania and Narmina means our Patron community is blossoming, and as Caroline noted in her speech; what a fabulous group of dynamic and likeminded individuals we are building upon. Thank you again for all your support.
