The British Fashion Council (BFC) and Pandora are thrilled to collaborate with interdisciplinary artist and 2023 NEW WAVE: Creative, Jade Adeyemi, to create the trophy for The Fashion Awards 2024 presented by Pandora (TFA). The event will take place on Monday 2nd December at the Royal Albert Hall, London. TFA, organised by the BFC, is a key fundraiser for the BFC Foundation and celebrates the role of fashion at the intersection of culture and entertainment, spotlighting creative talent and telling the stories of the year in fashion.
Jade, a British-Nigerian interdisciplinary artist, works across fashion, advertising, music, experiential spatial design and event installations in her creative practice. For this trophy, Jade drew inspiration from Pandora’s expertise in jewellery design, concept of circularity and capturing the symbiotic relationship between fashion and cultural innovation. Guided by the cycles found in nature, Jade explores themes of growth, resilience and transformation.
Pandora crafts all its jewellery with 100% recycled silver and gold, and the brand has supplied the recycled silver for the creation of the trophy. The trophy's curved design symbolises the unpredictable and often non-linear journey to creative success. The intertwined silver element represents the intersection of craftsmanship and environmental responsibility while the mother-of-pearl finish references fragility and strength, mirroring oceanic shells that adapt and thrive in changing environments. Following extensive computer-aided design (CAD) work, each trophy was 3D printed by Creative Awards and then hand-painted by Kelly Allen, to ensure a unique artisanal touch.
Jade Adeyemi, trophy designer: "Designing the 2024 trophy so early in my career has been a dream come true, allowing me to create a piece that honours the many talented creatives I deeply admire. I wanted the trophy to resonate with me as an artist and be something people would proudly showcase in their homes. My hope is for each recipient to see this trophy as a reminder of their artistic journey, individuality and the partnerships that have supported them along the way.”
Mads Twomey-Madsen, Senior Vice President Sustainability, Pandora: “Collaborating with Jade and the British Fashion Council on this year’s trophy has been inspiring. At Pandora we are committed to reducing our impact on the planet, crafting all our jewellery, and now this trophy, from 100% recycled silver and gold. By blending artistry with sustainability, we hope to inspire the next generation of designers to create with intention and innovation.”
Ross Amor, Workshop Manager, Creative Awards: “Over the past 40 years, we have crafted numerous bespoke awards and trophies, but this project felt particularly special. The most rewarding aspect was collaborating with such imaginative and focused individuals. Bringing together such a talented team of British designers and artisans allowed us to turn a fantasy concept, driven purely by aesthetics, into a tangible piece. The process involved a range of technologies and processes, with extensive CAD work to ensure the trophy’s flowing, organic form could be both 3D printed and assembled.”
TFA bring together a global community in London, the home of fashion creativity, to amplify leaders of change, celebrate excellence in creativity and support the next generation of creative talent. The event is the primary fundraiser of the BFC Foundation (Registered Charity Number: 1185152), which supports the future growth and success of the British fashion industry by focusing on education, grant-giving and business mentoring.
