Isa's debut collection finds its initial inspiration in Stanley Kubrick's film "Barry Lyndon." The captivating portrayal of 18th-century fashion, with its rich textures and elegant silhouettes, serves as the starting point for Isa's exploration of menswear from that era. With a desire to experiment with the art of bias cutting, Isa delves into a historical period known for meticulous attention to detail and exceptional craftsmanship, making it the cornerstone of the collection. Having spent a year in the industry, Isa's journey includes working with Savile Row Tailors, Anderson & Sheppard, an experience that proves rare and transformative. Beginning as an intern, Isa quickly transitions into a permanent role, immersing himself in the world-renowned tailoring house. Surrounded by master tailors dedicated to their craft, Isa's appreciation for the intricate art of tailoring deepens, shaping it into a central theme of his collection. The firsthand experience of witnessing expert craftsmanship leaves an indelible mark on Isa. Every garment at Anderson & Sheppard is a testament to meticulous care and precision, influencing Isa's design philosophy profoundly. Seeking to honour these traditional techniques, Isa crafts entirely bespoke jackets, each piece meticulously handmade down to the buttonholes, showcasing the skill and artistry of true bespoke tailoring. Isa also explores the complexity and elegance of bias cutting, a technique allowing garments to drape fluidly and move gracefully with the body. This exploration challenges Isa to think innovatively about garment construction, expanding his technical skills and enhancing the aesthetic quality of the collection. The collection is crafted entirely from wool, a material Isa grew to admire during his time at Anderson & Sheppard. He discovered wool's incredible versatility; it is not only durable and comfortable but also sustainable. The commitment to sustainability on Savile Row was particularly inspiring.
