On the eve of London Collections: Men, the Museum of London looks to the future of fashion with the new display, NEWGEN MEN 2014.
Showcasing a selection of designs from the rising stars of London menswear, NEWGEN MEN 2014 profiles recipients of the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN MEN sponsored by TOPMAN spring/summer 2015 award. The display that opens on Friday 13 June features work from designers: Agi & Sam, Astrid Andersen, Alex Mullins, Diego Vanassibara, Kit Neale and Matthew Miller.
“The Museum of London holds one of the greatest collections of historic menswear in the world. From Roman sandals and medieval jerkins to suits from Savile Row, our collection provides a unique window into the sartorial past of the London man. While documenting the history of this great capital, we also keep an eye on the future – and it’s fantastic that we can exhibit a selection of innovative designs from the NEWGEN MEN winners for spring/summer 2015. Each chosen label receives business support and the opportunity to present its work at London Collections: Men, a three-day showcase of British menswear that begins this Sunday 15 June.
