Graduate Preview Day 2010

The British Fashion Council’s (BFC) 2010 Colleges Council Graduate Preview Day, will take place on Wednesday 28th April 2010, 10.30am – 5pm at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA Building), 66 Portland Place, W1.

This annual event brings industry insiders from media, recruitment, retail, design, manufacturing, sales, marketing and PR together to preview the work of graduating students who will be entering the job market later in the year.  Over twenty five leading fashion colleges which are members of Colleges Council will be exhibiting portfolios of 2010 graduates’ work.

Exhibiting colleges will be judged for three awards; The Drapers Awards for College Portfolio, Fashion Illustration and the WGSN Digital Presentation Award.

The Drapers College Portfolio Award will be awarded to the college that presents the best overall presentation of its students work, judged by a selection panel of senior industry members, chaired by Anne Tyrrell. The winner and two runner up Colleges will secure coverage in Drapers in addition to a 12 month magazine subscription.

The WGSN Digital Presentation Award in association with the BFC recognises the popular medium for designers to reach new audiences and present their collections and offers the winning college will receive a WGSN subscription. Integrating fashion and technology through fashion film is an increasingly relevant form of communication and an increasingly popular element of a designer's digital strategy. This was demonstrated at London Fashion Week through the launch of the first Digital Schedule, showcasing films from Hussein Chalayan, Boudicca, Twenty8Twelve and Craig Lawrence and live streamed shows from the likes of Burberry, Christopher Kane and PPQ.

This year the awards will be announced at 4.30pm on the day.
