We are delighted to announce the launch of London Fashion Week (LFW) September 2023, taking place from Friday 15th to Tuesday 19th September as a digital-physical hybrid. LFW September 2023 boasts an incredible line-up of 137 brands including 111 physical activations and 36 digital activations taking place on schedule.
London Fashion Week is a global showcase of talent that curates and amplifies excellence in creativity, culture, and commerciality. The schedule currently boasts 82 schedule designers, 49 catwalk shows, 15 presentations, 47 events and 36 digital activations which are available on the official Digital Hub, londonfashionweek.co.uk. This season, we have 15 designers activating as part of the digital DiscoveryLAB which was established in 2018 to support very emerging designers who do not yet meet the main schedule criteria. Confirmed designers include Adrianne Weber, ALBARELLA, Amorphous studio, chūnchén, Emma Blythe, Genevieve Devine, KYLE HO, MARIANAVA, PARISER, PERMU, Rhyzem, ROSEOCEAN, RUIRUI DENG, Samuel Slattery and siyun huang.
SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTS
New to the schedule this season is denzilpatrick, EIRINN HAYHOW, FROLOV, Holzweiler, KÍLÉNTÀR, PĪFERI, MAX ANTHONY BROWN, SRVC and TREDDENICK. There are also a number of BFC NEWGEN designers making their LFW debuts including; AARON ESH, DERRICK, Kazna Asker, The Winter House and TOLU COKER. The BFC NEWGEN Show Space will return to The Old Selfridges Hotel, thanks to the generous support of Selfridges.
As part of the ‘Support Ukrainian Fashion’ initiative, LFW and Ukrainian Fashion Week will present three Ukrainian designers; ELENAREVA, KSENIASCHNAIDER and NADYA DZYAK. This initiative was launched by Ukrainian Fashion Week to support designers in Ukraine following the war.
LFW CITY WIDE CELEBRATIONS
LFW September will continue to unite London in a festival of creativity and innovation through the City Wide Celebration (CWC). CWC is a programme of events and activities open to the public running from Wednesday 13th September to Tuesday 19th September 2023 alongside the LFW schedule. THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF BFC NEWGEN
REBEL: 30 Years of London Fashion sponsored by Alexander McQueen and guest curated by Sarah Mower MBE opens to the public on the 16th September - 11th February 2024. A landmark collaboration between the BFC and The Design Museum, REBEL celebrates the 30th anniversary of the BFC NEWGEN showcasing initiative, over 300 designers — the NEWGEN alumni — and their sensational impact on the global fashion scene. The first major exhibition to focus solely on the creativity of young designers in Britain, the exhibition showcases London’s unique fashion culture on a world stage. In partnership with Bags of Ethics, BFC NEWGEN Alumni designers: Ahluwalia, Christopher Kane, Erdem, Giles Deacon, Halpern, Mary Katrantzou and Roksanda have kindly donated signature prints that have been beautifully reimagined into a limited-edition collection of luxury tote bags. BFC have also collaborated with NEWGEN alumni Henry Holland who has reimagined one of his iconic slogans, “AGAIN AND AGAIN NEWGEN” to create a limited-edition tote bag exclusively for LFW’s City Wide Celebration. Available in 2 colourways, the collection is exclusively available to buy from mid-September from Bags of Ethics, The Design Museum and Selfridges.
TONI&GUY and LABEL.M have proudly partnered with the BFC and NEWGEN 30 to bring you two sustainable velvet designer cosmetic bags by Mary Katranzou and Halpern. Available in two colourways at all TONI&GUY salons from Friday 15th September. AllSaints have designed an exclusive commemorative tote bag which features the names of all the BFC NEWGEN alumni. Available to purchase exclusively from All Saints stores across the UK.
A donation from each bag goes directly to the charity which supports the next generation of young designers, the BFC Foundation (Registered Charity Number: 1185152).
