Celebrating the Scottish landscape, my graduate collection explores the poetic character of an old abandoned hotel situated on the west coast of Scotland in a small town called Tighnabruaich. I explore themes of decay, the weather and the fragile beauty of the Scottish landscape. Craftsmanship and quality are very important to me as a designer. I have used high quality durable materials within my collection, such as latex, wool and waxed wool, all of which have sustainable and environmental benefits. Through my material choices I have tried to capture the atmosphere of the abandoned hotel using a combination of traditional and digital printing methods and fabric manipulation to create bold and textural textiles.
