People and their relationship with the clothes they wear have always interested me. One of my muses is the artist Andy Warhol, who showed his persona through the disguise of his clothes, wig, glasses, and makeup whilst hiding his private, introverted character. I wanted to explore the ideology of wearing clothes to layer identity, and how this could be reversed to reflect the inner workings of the mind through the inside of the garments. To develop this further, I looked closely at the tailored designs of Giorgio Armani from the 80’s. Under the exterior of the oversized suits are the precious binding, delicate French seams, and intricate structural details. I wanted my final collection to create a symbiotic relationship between the wearer and clothing that reveals the character under the outer armour. Similarly, to how Basquiat wore clothes that embodied his character and work, I want garments to effortlessly peel back the exterior and expose vulnerability
