Katy Hansell is a Womenswear Designer who specialises in Print Design. Luxe textiles meet trend and travels through a vibrant range of complimentary prints. Garments in the collections are multi-way and interchangeable, making the looks as unique as the wearer in them. Throughout my final year I have designed for a diverse and inclusive customer base. Often playing with the boundaries of creativity and commerciality- making bold patterns accessible and wearable. Inspired by an industrial placement at a London Couture House, I translated my love of hand beading into something more adaptable and accessible. Using metallic accents in print designs to give the appearance of embellishment/embroidery is a more sustainable process with less material waste, counteracting the negative impact that travel has on the environment. The printed pieces will be interchangeable across the collection, creating a range of looks in just one outfit - for the many occasions we have now to dress up for.
