My work focuses on innovative techniques in womenswear. I experiment with laser cutting and sponge structures. The collection is defined by playfulness, thus it has a variety of colours and it uses embellishment, from acrylic "sequins" to balloon-like brooches. The main inspiration came from Jeff Koons' funny sculptures, Miles Aldridge's 60s cinematic photography and 3D art. Fabrics, such as neoprene or twill, offer a structural effect. I explored interesting shapes through corsetry and dressmaking. I loved the idea of creating a fictional world, where everything looks staged and the clothing forms a smooth shape, just like an animation. I envisioned a transition between childhood and adulthood, therefore elements of a mature style combine with juvenile details. This collection represents my introspection about the process of growing up.
