As a designer, I have been developing collections that explore the concepts of belonging, security, and the impact of the digital age on our lives. Project 1: My dwelling place Inspired by Erich Fromm's theory of belonging, I delved into the relationship between people and space. My personal experiences, including the death of family members and living abroad, made me feel lonely and empty, leading to a sense of lacking belonging and security. Childhood memories provide a refuge, influencing my designs. This project examines the human quest for belonging, divided into coexistence (self-worth) and spatiality (seeking refuge). My innovative clothing designs visually express this pervasive sense of belonging and its absence in society. Project 2: Echoes of the Digital Labyrinth Inspired by Cal Newport’s "Digital Minimalism," this project examines how the digital age reshapes our lifestyles and values. It emphasizes the importance of critically evaluating the influx of digital information and its impact on our daily lives. My goal is to encourage people to engage more meaningfully with the real world and to approach the digital world more cautiously and insightfully. My designs reflect the tension between the virtual and real, urging a balanced engagement with both digital and physical experiences. In my collections, I aim to create garments that not only serve a functional purpose but also prompt reflection on our sense of self and place in the world. By exploring tactile and material aspects of fashion, I strive to reconnect individuals with the physical world, emphasizing the importance of touch and personal interaction in an increasingly digital age.
