My journey began at 14 as an upholsterer, where I developed a keen eye for form, structure, and texture. This informs my identity as a womenswear designer with garments characterised by unique construction methods and unconventional silhouettes. Design has become my way of communicating life's complexities and struggles, especially those hard to express in words. The creative process offers me solace, deeply influenced by the transformative power of art and literature. My graduate collection ‘After Death’ reflects this, featuring extensive hand stitching and intricate metal soldering. These techniques are not merely aesthetic; they represent a therapeutic act of creation. This collection draws heavily from work such as Deepak Chopra's "Life After Death" and Dante Alighieri’s "The Divine Comedy", exploring profound insights into what happens after death. Through dramatic silhouettes and unconventional materials, I aim to create pieces that are both haunting and beautiful. Each garment in my collection is a narrative, through my designs I invite others to find beauty in the complexities of life and death. Fashion, for me, is not just about clothing—it is a means of healing, understanding, and exploration.
