Family Treasures

Family Treasures is a fun and vibrant fabric collection exploring the symbolism and craftsmanship of my mum’s traditional Chinese wedding dress. It is a treasured item within the family and will continue to be passed on to future generations, preserving the old memories and creating new memories along with it. The details and delicate embellishments of the dress has inspired the details within my knitted textile collection. Throughout this project, my passion for experimenting with knits especially with domestic machine knitting has grown. My experience in Textile design has allowed me to incorporate cross-disciplinary techniques such as embroidery, ceramics, crochet and macrame into my knits to create unique and innovative fabrics.
