Ballet Rehearsal

My collection began as an exploration of the outfits worn by ballerinas on stage, and evolved into a hybrid of performance wear and warm-up/rehearsal attire with an emphasis on cool comfort and stylish practicality. My aim was to create a collection that is both beautiful and elegant, reflecting the grace of ballerinas on stage while also capturing the imperfections of their off-stage lives. Silhouettes and fabrics have been selected to embody the feminine style of ballet clothes while integrating a more masculine athleisure aspect. Sweatshirt fabric evokes the relaxed energy of a rehearsal while satin and tulle suggest an element of elegance. Repurposing tutus in my designs was a playful nod to up-cycling and sustainability, which I wanted to highlight as a key message in my collection. My collection targets the fashion-conscious consumer seeking high-quality, ballet-inspired clothing suitable for both everyday wear and special occasions.
