Foot In The Door

My project, "Foot in the Door," was inspired by my love for Newcastle and the incredible creative talent it harbours. Growing up in this vibrant city, I've always been fascinated by its rich culture and dynamic art scenes. My goal is to shine a spotlight on Newcastle's often overlooked creative community and transform it into a recognised hub for fashion innovation and collaboration. The concept of "Foot in the Door" revolves around celebrating local talent, fostering inclusivity, and encouraging collaboration. Through a YouTube series and a complementary website/blog, I aim to create a platform that brings the stories of Newcastle’s creatives to the forefront. The YouTube series features intimate interviews with local designers, artists, and photographers, exploring their journeys and inspirations. It also includes styling challenges that highlight sustainable fashion practices in a fun and engaging way. For my promotional strategy, I will be hosting networking events in lesser-known venues, focusing on small businesses in Newcastle and bringing exhibition spaces to these hidden gems. By partnering with these unique locations, I aim to foster a sense of community and mutual support among Newcastle's creatives. "Foot in the Door" will be a platform that not only celebrates and uplifts local talent but also uncovers the hidden treasures within our city.
