My collection is inspired by Bollywood movies & the Persian Empire, drawing inspiration from the rich cultural tapestries of the two iconic influences, I crafted a collection that pays homage to their timeless elegance & opulence. It explores Bollywood maximalism & extravagant styles seen in Bollywood films. I’ve looked upon larger-than-life aesthetics, vibrant colours, elaborate silhouettes, lavish costumes. To further explore the fantasy, romance, drama, I looked back in history to the Mughal era & their association with the Persians & Afghans. In the realm of Bollywood movies, we are transported to an era of majestic palaces, intricate embroidery, & vibrant colors that tell stories of love, valour, tradition. Through my designs, I have captured the essence of Bollywood grandeur, infusing the drama & romance that define this genre. From flowing silks to ornate embellishments, every garment is a nod to the rich heritage of Indian cinema. In parallel, the Persian Empire stands as a beacon of refinement & sophistication known for its exquisite craftsmanship, regal motifs & luxurious fabrics. Inspired by Persian architecture & textiles, my designs reflect the grandeur & splendour of a bygone era. Each ensemble evokes the spirit of royalty with intricate patterns, rich textures & a sense of timeless beauty that transcends borders. In addition, Faig Ahmed's mesmerizing Melting Carpet artwork inspired me. The way he deconstructs & distorts traditional rug patterns in a fluid manner is ground-breaking. This innovative approach ignited my creativity urging me to explore unconventional textures & shapes in my designs. Drawing from Ahmed's bold & thought-provoking aesthetic, I am excited to infuse my collection with a sense of fluidity & transformation, creating garments that blur the lines between tradition & modernity. I am excited to bring a fresh perspective to my pieces, creating a collection that celebrates the beauty of cultural reinvention and individual expression.
