Highland Heritage

The concept for my final collection delves into my Scottish heritage and the historical significance of tartan and its resonance with identity. For centuries, this ubiquitous pattern has symbolized the unique values of Scottish clans, embodying their identity and individuality through colour and weave. In my collection, I aim to authentically represent Scotland's rich history by incorporating genuine Scottish tartan sourced from local mills and employing thoughtful construction techniques. Alongside traditional Scottish silhouettes and materials, I have integrated modern-day functionality, ensuring that my garments are suitable for hikers exploring the rugged terrain of the Scottish Highlands. Extensive research into appropriate clothing for colder climates has informed my design process, resulting in a combination of traditional and modern materials such as lambswool, authentic tartan, and windbreaker fabrics.
