L’HOMME ÉLÉGANT

Inspired by my Senegalese heritage, this collection portrays the elegance of Senegalese traditional clothing as well as the roughness of the national sport which is wrestling. These two ideas combined in one represent this collection. The use of heavy to lightweight fabric to create the contrast mentioned before as well as influenced by the meaning of the colour purple and brown. Purple it is associated with royalty, nobility, and luxury and brown it is associated with elegance, strength, and reliability. In addition, Senegal was a French colony which has also influence the silhouettes therefore it is too inspired by the western clothing.
