Inspired by London's 18th Century Pleasure Gardens, specifically that of the Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, merged with contemporary references from bondage and lingerie to men's leather chaps and horse saddles, and photographers like that of Robert Mapplethorpe and Ellen Von Unwerth. The Pleasure Gardens, were known for being part art gallery, part fashion show and part brothel, it was known for being the place where the 'glittering world of wealth, fashion and high culture' showed off its seedy underside. A place were Londoners confronted their very best and very worst selves. Constantly tainted with scandal and intrigue, this collection revisits the pleasure gardens as to what they may look like in present day. Excess in styling and leather harnesses merged with Jersey and ribbed knit undergarments decorate the body.
