Combined, the pieces will form a capsule collection that will be sold exclusively on the website.
London Style Suites has been scheduled to take place in advance of the 2013/14 awards season and the days preceding the BAFTA Los Angeles Jaguar Britannia Awards ceremony. Each designer will take over a private cottage at the Chateau Marmont Hotel in Hollywood to showcase their SS14 red carpet pieces for the duration of the event. STYLEBOP.com will take over a bungalow showcasing current season red carpet designers for VIPs to wear at the BAFTA Los Angeles Jaguar Britannia Awards on Saturday night. West Coast stylists, press and VIPs will have the opportunity to meet the designers in person and view the collections in a unique environment.
London Style Suites is a key event in the BFC’s activity to increase the presence of British designers in international markets; LA is the home of the red carpet and activity in this market is aimed at securing designers’ reputations as the go-to brands for the increasing number of events during the awards season.
On Friday, 8th November, London Style Suites will celebrate with a cocktail reception hosted by the BFC, STYLEBOP.com and The Hollywood Reporter at the Chateau Marmont.
Caroline Rush, CEO British Fashion Council commented:
“London Style Suites in LA will allow key players from the film and music industries including stylists, stars of the red carpet and press to initiate conversations with some of London’s brightest design talents and increase red carpet moments across the globe. This is a fantastic opportunity to reinforce the British fashion industry’s growing reputation overseas. We are delighted to work more closely with BAFTA to celebrate the symbiotic relationship between fashion and film. In our sponsor Stylebop, we have found a partner who understands the value of nurturing the relationships between our British designers and key industry influencers, and the importance of the red carpet imagery we want to promote.”
Mario Eimuth, CEO STYLEBOP.com commented,
“STYLEBOP.com has always been a proud supporter of British talent. We are honored to be able to partner with the BFC, whose contributions have been invaluable, nurturing the next generation of rising stars, while offering ongoing support to established talents. The London Style Suites offers the perfect opportunity to shine the spotlight on the art of red carpet dressing as envisioned by this wide range of British design stars. We are also proud to be able to produce a special collection to celebrate this occasion, and bring world-class design to a global audience. We look forward to the launch in conjunction with The Britannias, as the world of film, music and fashion come together to celebrate all things Brit.”
Executive Director and COO of BAFTA Los Angeles, Donald Haber commented, “The film and television industries have long been synonymous with beauty and style, and fashion is an integral part of the movies on screen and off. We are delighted to co-host the Jaguar Britannia Awards After-Party with Stylebop.com and the British Fashion Council, who have joined forces to help promote the allure and wonderfulness of the British fashion industry. It will be an added treat for attendees and our television viewers on BBC America to see British beauty and style represented at the Britannia Awards and on the red carpet.'
BAFTA Los Angeles was established as a Californian public-benefit non-profit corporation in 1987 to serve as a bridge between Hollywood and British production and entertainment business communities.
