Reims Gueux 1997

Lucy Claydon-Smith is a British Womenswear Designer, based in London. Her work is inspired by her personal life, home and stories of her family and friends. Creating collections that feel intimate and personal, she enjoys story telling through her work. Her graduate collection, Reims Gueux 1997, is an homage to four generations of her father's family who loved and rode motorcycles. The heart of the collection is the Reims Gueux racecourse in France. Once home to the French Grand Prix, the racecourse is now not in use. It was one of the favourite stops of her parent’s honeymoon as they rode around Northern Europe on the back of her father's motorcycle. The collection explores the history of her families ties to motorcycling and the love that both of her parents have, not just for each other, but for the Reims Gueux circuit. This collection is dedicated to her grandfather, Albert.
