Philippa

My final collection is an exploration of my mum ‘Philippa’ and her lifestyle during the 1970s period. I focused on muses and style icons such as Bianca Jagger and Jean Shrimpton as well as explored the creations of designers of that time that include Halston, Ossie Clarke and Diane Von Frustenberg. As a womenswear knitwear designer, I wanted to incorporate both knit and tailoring into my final collection, which through research and rigorous development I was able to create both unique dazzling knits and stylish silhouettes personal to my concept and theme. I have learnt so much as a designer and embraced the question of identity throughout creating my final collection. I look forward to pushing myself further as a designer in my next creative challenges to come.
