Inheritance of the Soule

My name is Ilona Mandyradzhy, and I am womenswear fashion designer originating from Ukraine. In 2022 I was honoured to be selected as a BFC Scholar, that allowed me to further develop my vision and create a graduation collection at Birmingham City University that celebrates my national heritage and ethnic culture. Through my design work, I strive to be a catalyst for meaningful conversations and to challenge societal norms. I believe that fashion has the power to provoke thought, evoke emotions, and ultimately drive positive change. My design aesthetic is rooted in minimalism, where simplicity, timeless and elegance take center stage. However, my design philosophy goes beyond traditional minimalism. I incorporate elements of deconstruction and futuristic influences to add a distinctive edge to my creations. This juxtaposition of contrasting elements brings a sense of innovation and unexpectedness to my designs. I believe that fashion has the potential to motivate and inspire.
