Pa Marzanna

Pa Marzanna is a collec.on inspired by medieval pagan rituals and folklore characters of modern-day Poland; portraying the transi.on from fall to spring and hence the banishment of fear and misfortune in favour of warmth and posi.vity. Drawn from personal memories of dressed-up carolers in Poland from my childhood, each look is inspired by the different characters of Polish folklore; Death, Devil, Turoń, Dziad, Rusałka, and Angel. My aim was to convey the personali.es and history of each character through the juxtaposi.on of fabric textures and silhoueIes, leading through the journey of seasonal and emo.onal transi.on.
