'Auto Tyre-Orama'

Alice Keech is a womenwear designer undertaking her BA at the University of Westminster. Inspired by her travels, a passion for the journey and the interwoven aspects of places, people and their history, her latest body of work portrays that fascination for the forms of movement and the interplay in the fluidity of form and texture. Alices work, explores the historic aspects of her research, sensing and playing with the passage of time on garments. Here she concentrates on fabrication and print forms, working hand in hand with shapes and outlined silhouettes to focus on texture, feel and motion to express and communicate her narrative. ‘Auto Tyre-Orama’, which is the inspiration for her collection melts together the physicality of movement and the passage of time, expressed in the frameworks of cars and motor racing, focusing on metallic foils, oil-like fabric and leathers with contouring racing stripes.
