My graduate collection explores contrasting forms of country attire; tailoring and estate tweeds worn by the landed gentry, the itchy wooly knits, plaids and kilts traditionally worn by humble shepherds, and even touching on the harsh raw leathers, technical waterproofs and ghillie suits worn by American hunters. From traditional crafts such as tailoring, knit and leather, to applications of modern techniques like waterproof nylons and seam taping within my technical outerwear. My experience interning with Craig Green gave me an appreciation of his artistic application of modern techniques and fabrications, while my internship with Daniel Fletcher developed my understanding of how traditional fabrics and techniques could be applied in a contemporary context.
