India Callow is a Kingston University Fashion Design Student who explores themes of femininity and womanhood within her work. She seeks to make socio-political commentaries with her garments and uses the medium of Lingerie to explore ideas surrounding female sexualisation, whilst seeking to uplift and empower the diverse range of women that she works with. She was born in Manchester however moved to London to pursue her Fashion Studies in 2021 and has since developed her design handwriting. Her graduate collection, Blonde: Chlorosis and Synthetic Elegance was an investigation of historic female sexualisation, and combined religious iconography, historic garments, and her own ethnographic research of the people surrounding her to create a collection that illustrated a cyclical tale of womanhood, starting with puritanical innocence and ending with a crone. She is now keen to continue to develop her design skills, and now transition from education to working in the industry.
