I’m Phoebe Wong, a fashion student that calls Malaysia home — a multi-ethnic country rich in culture and tradition. Growing up surrounded by bold women—my grandmother, a tailor, and my mother—who taught me to embrace my individuality. Despite the strict social norms we were expected to observe, i learnt to express myself through fashion and it empowered me to find my style. Being born and bred in a vibrant environment, I understood the power of fashion at a very young age and never ceased to innovate. My journey into fashion began early, inspired by the diverse fabrics and intricate patterns that are a hallmark of Malaysian culture. My projects have always been inspired by home. Most of my fabrics are sourced from Malaysia, reflecting my commitment to honoring and promoting the craftsmanship of my people. My designs are characterized by bold colors, intricate details, and a commitment to preserving old and traditional techniques. one day I hope to bring my perspective back to Malaysia.
