Conceptual womenswear designer interested in unconventional silhouettes through reinterpretation of the female form, with a strong focus on fabric manipulation and a dark colour palette. Industry experience includes Nicholas Daley and Palmer // Harding. Being raised within an unconventional family setting and facing adversity through both my own experiences, and that of my relative, has led me to focus on the darker side of fashion. Named after the newspaper article which documented the death of my Aunt Sandra who passed away from an eating disorder, ‘Tragedy of the Pretty Girl’ is a collection which aims to move away from the ideal features of the female silhouette. This, combined with inspiration from generic yet unrealistic shapes of female toilet signs, allowed me to produce a new coveted silhouette. Integrating this with an all-black colour palette of interesting textures, influenced by the time where I was homeless and solely possessed bin bags of my own black garments, ‘Tragedy of the Pretty Girl’ was created.
