Hi, I'm Lydia Vu, a dedicated knitwear designer who thrives at the intersection of design and textiles. My approach to design is deeply rooted in a natural and organic process, allowing my creations to evolve authentically. I draw inspiration from a wide array of sources, applying a unique perspective and originality in my work, ensuring that my designs are truly my own. My mission is to broaden the horizons of knitwear, challenging traditional perceptions and showcasing its vast potential. Knitwear, in my view, is an incredibly versatile medium, capable of much more than is often realized. Through my work, I aim to highlight the endless possibilities that can be achieved with knitwear, encouraging a re-evaluation of its place in contemporary fashion. One of the core aspects of my design philosophy is the exploration and combination of different types of yarns pushing me to add unique texture and depth to my pieces, making each one stand out. I believe that the material itself has a voice, and I strive to let the knit speak for itself, without relying on overly complex silhouettes. Instead of focusing on intricate shapes, I concentrate on the inherent beauty and complexity of the knit. I am particularly passionate about 3D knitwear and other methods that imbue garments with greater depth and dimension. These techniques enable me to create pieces that are not only visually striking but also rich in tactile appeal. In my portfolio, you'll find a range of designs that reflect my commitment to innovation and craftsmanship. Each piece is a testament to my belief in the power of knitwear to transform and elevate fashion. I am eager to continue pushing the boundaries of what knitwear can be, introducing fresh perspectives and inspiring new appreciation for this timeless craft.
