This portfolio is composed of two distinct projects: Hidden beauty & Daï Ati. The first one, is a tribute to my home country; Guiana which is symbolised through the emerald tree boa snake. Cultural elements of the three main ethnic groups of the land are infused in the collection by the means of details or/ and embellishments. The second one, whilst still revolving around Guiana focuses solely on the Maroon tribes and their communicative art form named Tembé. Prints were developed from said art and incorporated contemporary smart casual garments whilst keeping components of the ethnic group’s traditional clothing.
