Multiform

As a devoted and industrious professional with a background as the owner and creative director of my own brand and also recent graduate I am eager to broaden my horizons and contribute my skills to diverse companies and brands within the fashion industry. My commitment to skill enhancement extends beyond my current venture, as I actively seek opportunities to learn new methods and techniques in production. My keen interest in reworking and repurposing unwanted garments drives my career as a fashion designer. My goal with my final major project Multiform is a unisex collection comprising six outfits. Through my final garments, I aim to celebrate individuals who wear uniforms, showcasing their pride in being part of an organisation or institution. I find this aspect of fashion intriguing and rich with potential. Examining the various professions and jobs where uniforms are worn reveals endless inspiration. The chosen title for my final collection suggests that uniforms can take on various forms and appearances or exist in many kinds. There were two approaches for that I took with production. I either repurposed ordinary ones or took an inspiration from them and created new designs with different types of garments for it. I also chose six specific professions for my six outfits and each outfit represent one specific profession. There are only a few garments and designs that were made from shop bought fabric in a normal way but 90% of the collection is upcycled and made from existing things, alongside the accessories as well which is very important for me since they highlight the environments of workers and also compliments the uniforms. I tried choosing braver approach when it came to accessorising as well with using objects and things in a different way like helmet as a bag or ties as belts and many more. I want to show people that anything can be fashion, or maybe also everything that was fashion can be fashion again.
