Solitude Mirror

The inspiration for this collection comes from Dzung Yoko's Dualism Artbook, where "The Garden of Mind" vividly illustrates the interplay of light and darkness. Dualism states that these two fundamental and distinct realities, though seemingly contradictory, actually complement each other in profound ways. In my interpretation, Dualism unfolds as an intimate emotional journey of self-acceptance—a tender and tumultuous relationship between one's mind and soul. Solitude is a quiet companionship with oneself where one can gaze into the mirror of their own being, cherishing and romanticising every emotion, from the heights of delight to the depths of sorrow. It is through this solitary embrace that one achieves the serenity of their inner self. Myrtle’s sculptured bouquet silhouette embodies both allure and entrapment. It symbolizes the caged emotions while the blessings unknowingly flow away. Yet, Myrtle also signifies hope, embodying purification and rebirth. This is where Amaryllis enters the scene, breathing life into the parched soul like vibrant flowers blossoming on barren land. Finally, Viridia emerges as the soul's flourishing garden now lush and green, ready for new adventures and beginnings.
