Francesca Fennell: INTIMATE NATURE

My INTIMATE NATURE collection emphasises the importance of Lichen microorganism derived bio-fabrications and their role in future textiles for fashion. Circularity is considered with the use of dead-stock fabrics and yarns. Inspired by the captivating shapes, textures, and colours of Lichens, voluminous silhouettes are informed through waste-conscious pattern cutting. Domestic knit, textured fabrics, surplus tents and parachute remnants are combined with twill-relief jacquards created using the Stool Industrial Knitting Machine. I am experimental designer, creating wearable art and clothing of the future. Specialising in Womenswear Knitwear with a view on sustainability.
